Laura Batkis

A freelance curator, Laura Batkis has a degree in Art History from the Universidad de Buenos Aires, where she taught contemporary Argentine art. She has been awarded research fellowships in contemporary Argentine art from the Fundación Antorchas and the Fondo Nacional de las Artes. She has written a great many catalogues texts and other publications. Her outstanding curatorial projects include the 1st Johannesburg Biennale in South Africa; she was the chief curator of the Centro Cultural San Martín and of the Centro Cultural Recoleta. She served as President of the arteBA Gallery Committee. She currently teaches art history and acts as Art Consultan to private collections and institutions. Lives in Buenos Aires.
